Tigran carries out a number of clinical and experimental studies
Periodontitis is an inflammatory process (with many similarities to peri-implantitis) which is caused by dental plaque buildup, causing gingivitis and then alveolar bone loss. If the condition is not treated it can cause the teeth to come completely loose.
The classic method of treating periodontitis is by cleaning, which primarily works on certain vertical periodontitis defects and with class I furcations. There are currently no generally accepted methods of treating class II furcations.

Class II-furcation with distinct bone resorption
It has been suggested that porous titanium granules can serve as scaffolding for bone regeneration in comprehensive periodontal defects of critical size. Tigran is currently running a multi-center study at the university hospitals in Gothenburg and Oslo. The goal of the study is to test whether Tigran’s products and methods of doing surgery work for periodontitis class II furcations. Earlier experimental studies in the area have had positive outcomes and the initial results in human studies look promising.
